Breaking Waves

Breaking waves on the sea of time.
Splashing through the broiling waters,
rising and falling with the swells.
Steadying ourselves
on our tip toes,
to catch a glimmer
of the golden island
 on the horizon: 
love and understanding.
Such a long way to get there
but definitely worth the journey.
