Viewing the works in the gallery really inspired the teachers to look at art and creativity in a new way. Their next task was to try to make their own assemblage with provided images and objects. They rose to the occasion and made some really exciting pieces and spoke articulately about their process of collaborating and creating (the real purpose of the activity). I feel lucky to be in the company of such enthusiastic educators. There is hope for the next generation of teachers and students if they educational system can be filled with people such as these.
Hold on to what is good even if it is a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe even if it is a tree which stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do even if it is a long way from here.
Hold on to life even when it is easier letting go.
Hold on to my hand even when I have gone away from you.
~Pueblo blessing
