Hold on to what is good even if it is a handful of earth.

Hold on to what you believe even if it is a tree which stands by itself.

Hold on to what you must do even if it is a long way from here.

Hold on to life even when it is easier letting go.

Hold on to my hand even when I have gone away from you.

~Pueblo blessing

Three perfect strangers around a gourd bin at the local nursery. As we stared at the pickings, the attendant, Pete hollered "Don't miss the gourd swan lookalike we have on display near the checkout."

The gentleman beside me goes "These look pretty lifelike to me. Look at this sad one here, he seems to have lost the love of this life."

I chip in "This one, looking beyond is the eternal optimist."

We exchange smiles accompanied with chuckles.

Pete stops what he is doing and saunters over. I do some gourd rearranging.

The lady goes "This one seems lost and that one is a follower."

We laugh sharing the unexpected magic of random connections!

Pete goes " Hey you've got a whole story going."

I go "We are making art with gourds!" We laugh some more, I take the picture thinking Adele would like to hear of this!

We go our separate ways.

Dear Adele sending warm wishes and hugs this Thanksgiving!

Can you tell who's who? One was sidelined.

Checkout the one on display.

  2. Love the contrast of the white pumpkins below them in the box. Nice work Melanie The gourd "feet" stand is too cute. I use to grow all these many years ago.
